Due to lack of federal funding for operations in the 2010-11 Corps of Engineers' budget, the Willamette Falls Navigation Canal and Locks has been placed into 'Caretaker' status for the 2011 boating season.

Without an operating canal to welcome the usual flotilla of watercraft that is a central dynamic of our one-day history festival, we regret to announce that we will be unable to have a 2011 Lock Fest.

If we see increased community support for funding and increasing potential for a revival of the commercial traffic that justifies federal allocations to Corps facilities, we hope to be back with a great festival again in 2012.
